I am a designer first and foremost, but passionate about all kinds of creative arts. I launched captiv8design in January 2002 after giving birth to my first son. Having worked in the hustle and bustle of London for over 5 years I decided I wanted work for myself with small businesses and home users. I am committed to providing a quality service to all of my clients at affordable and competitive rates. I like to work alongside my clients, making sure they are involved at every stage of a design. This ensures they receive a quality end-product that meets their original vision and is produced to the highest possible standards.
Over the years 2 more children have come along and working as a freelance designer fits in perfectly with family life. But freelancing from home can be lonely – i miss the buzz of working in a team environment – so I am also involved with volunteering my time as an active member of Holy Trinity Aylesbury. As part of our children’s ministry i help to provide creative and fun teaching/discipleship for our children. Throughout the year i am involved in the Alpha course, giving talks and guiding discussions, whilst on Friday mornings I help to run Revive, a womens’ bible study group.
I enjoyed the freedom to explore and create during an Arts Foundation course at High Wycombe College and then went on to gain a BA(Hons) in Design and Media Management at Thames Valley University.
I gained essential commercial experience, in many areas of design, whilst working for Deloitte Consulting, HSBC Investment Bank and Planet Presentations. These employers gave me the opportunity to work on briefs for large companies such as Vodafone, Barclays, Zeneca and Glaxo-Wellcome. Whilst freelancing i have been working for businesses local to Aylesbury Vale, including: Wentworth Estate Agents, Lead Academy, Dance Cupboard, More+ cafe, Guitar In Schools, Rainbow Pre School, mychildmindermk and Aylesbury Youth Action.
